Let's Get
Rid of the Weak Players Before We Even Start
The
episode title alludes to the opening twist of
Survivor - each tribe is forced to vote out someone
from making a journey (which is the 4 mile trek to
camp) based on first impressions alone. What the
Survivors do not know is that those individuals will
not be voted out of the game but rather flown into
camp ahead of the others. While they are there, they
will have an opportunity to get an early start on
camp or look for a hidden immunity idol around camp.
Jeff Probst mentions that they will not have time
for both but ultimately, they have an opportunity to
change the rest of the tribe's first impression of
them.
Based
on a few screencaps and logic it appears that Sierra
will be left behind for Timbira and Sandy will be
left behind for Jalapao.
The
beginning of the season will start out like some of
the others, the Survivors rush to get supplies that
will help them survive the next 30 odd something
days. Some items will be more difficult to bring
than others but the heavier it is, the more likely
it will be helpful to their overall survival (think
heavy bags of rice.)

There
is no evidence of a reward challenge.
Exile
Mentioned preseason, the winning tribe will get to
select someone from the losing tribe to go to Exile.
In turn, that person will get to select someone from
the winning tribe to accompany them. Once on Exile,
the two will get to select an egg, one that holds
nothing and another that holds a clue about the
location of the hidden immunity idol (this season,
the idol is around camp). The last twist for Exile
is either person can decide to mutiny to the other
tribe if they so choose.
Based
on the fact we have the first twist, it is unlikely
they will send anyone to Exile this first episode.
As laid
out by the challenge director - "We like to play with the names of our
challenges. This one's called "A River, Run Through
It". Our first challenge we try to make fairly
epic, using the river, using the beach. We set up a
tower with a staircase. On "Go" six of our players
will run up and over a series of sand hills out into
the river and then they grab a raft with some wooden
planks that are puzzle planks, bring them back to
shore. Once they have both rafts back to shore they
untie all the planks, race back to the staircase
where the two players left behind use them and try
to figure out where they fit in the staircase. Once
they've got the 16 pieces in they go to the top, two
other players have to go do a table maze. We came
up with these little handles with rope to move a peg
through a table maze. The first tribe that got out
of the table maze and raise their flag, wins."
Based
on the overall reaction shots we have seen for
Episode 1, it looks like Jalapao is in much higher
spirits, and tribes that tend to look happy means
they were able to avoid Tribal Council.
Boot
Prediction - Candace
Boot
Possibilities:
Debra? Sierra?
We
are banking on the fact that Candace is not able to
hold her own. In one of the previews, we have seen
several shots of her lying around, looking withered
and not motivated to be out there. It's possible
that she gets sick of playing the game real fast.
Not only that, but what we have seen of her
personality hasn't been the most positive preseason
so she will probably be someone that is unpleasant
to live with.
Our
back up picks are Debra for her sheer age - the
oldest woman on Timbira and Sierra - the girl who
hasn't made a quick enouh turnaround with her
initial impression with the group.
