  WOMEN

1. Elizabeth

She is very opinionated and passionate and not afraid to speak her mind and be honest. With that said, she knows it is not going to be beneficial at the beginning of the game to be this way but rather ride a wave with the herd until there are opportunities to advance in the game over others. She assesses that like Treasure Island, one must be ready to flip from being a good guy to a bad guy to survive out here. People do not make it far because they are not flexible enough.

Of the women in the cast, she appears to have the greatest grasp on the game, and therefore has given us a favorable impression of her. In terms of entertainment value, it doesn't seem she'll be a huge dramatic character, but we do expect her to give some good confessionals equivalent to how she delivered her interview segment. We're hoping for a Shii Ann and not a Becky.

2. Laura

She is a huge camper, a mom that can go without food, and bugs don't seem to bother her. She will miss intimate relationships with her family and friends the most. She is a natural leader and would rather do something instead of delegating tasks. Sometimes, she can be seen as bossy and hopes to tone this down to give her additional days in the game. She is a religious person, and doesn't intend to preach to the others.

It's been awhile since we have had an older woman to root for, but if we have one, Laura is it. She doesn't seem fixated on your atypical mom that is cast on the show--the one who cannot bear the elements or pull her weight in the challenges. We expect Laura to play hard and hopefully keep focused on what is at stake. She seems to have the best shot out of the older crowd.

3. Marisa

She talks about her unique upbringing with 8 siblings all with different mothers or fathers and living on a farm. She is excited to come into the game stripped of her worldly possessions and how she responds in her primal state. She feels she is pretty good at manipulating

Not given much information about her gameplay, we generally fell in love with Marisa's background story. She seems like she will bring a new type of character to Survivor. We are interested to see if she can adjust to all these different personalities.

4. Kelly

She describes herself as a free spirit and does not like to be confined to a schedule or routine. She is excited to have the opportunity to live on limited food and building a home to live in, something that in the end will be well worth it. She hates liars and those who are generally disrespectful. She feels like she will have versatility in the cast of 20, she will be relatable to all walks of life. She sees the group as a whole as very attractive.

She reminds us of a person that is channeling Flicka's (Cook Islands) or Courtney's (Exile Island) spirit and that makes for entertaining television. We hope she doesn't fit the profile of weak, eccentric girl that is voted out early.

5. Yasmin

She intends on staying neutral, as it is necessary to not come out as a target early on. She knows it is good to figure out who you want as potential allies and who she should stay far away from. She plans on doing more listening than talking, though she can keep at it if she was truly herself. She doesn't want to compromise her integrity at any point in the game.

We love us some sass in any tribe to stir up the pot. Hopefully she won't be too overbearing early on to be an easy premerge boot. What left us with a bad taste in our mouth is her fixation on keeping her integrity. We usually equate those players with a snooze fest.

6. Ashley

Her video seemed to center a lot around how she will be playing the game. She understands that the hidden immunity idol has not been used properly in the past and will be very cautious with it if in her possession. She feels her age puts her in an optimal place with the older and younger members of her tribe. She will do her best to not appear weak.

We don't love her, we don't hate her. Her interview was in the middle road for us. We like that she is the fan of the game and can see her using the knowledge of the previous season to help her advance in this one.

7. Shannon

She's very proud to sport her mullet. She has done everything she wanted to in her life. When Rupert was on during Pearl Islands, people encouraged her to apply seeing as though he was basically the female version of herself. Her experience in sales has helped her gel with different personalities and that will very well come to play in this game.

What a personality... but we see it as something that can get old, real fast. She reminds us of Sandy with a mullet. We don't know how far she goes, but we can't see her lasting until the jury at all.

8. Natalie

She believes people will see her as being very high maintenance and glamorous, but people will be surprised that she is a hard worker. She is not looking forward to being hungry or eating food she doesn't care for. She understands that one must have an open mind in order to play Survivor and play every per situation. She sees herself as having good social skills and athletic abilities that will be an asset in challenges.

Nothing has popped out at us to make us feel like we should be rooting for Natalie. Of the women, she seemed most confident in her athletic abilities. If this holds up, we may just bump her up a few notches.

9. Monica

She wants to be perceived as real, and wants to put off an image that she can tell it like it is. She doesn't want to tell anyone that she just graduated from law school. People will really regard it as a threat. She doesn't' want to be cutthroat for no reason, it's more about advancing yourself in the game. She doesn't want to make too many enemies as they will decide who wins in the end.

What is off putting about Monica is some of her comments in the video. If you want to be perceived as real, do that back home with your families and friends, not in a game worth a million dollars. She seems like she will be trying too hard to be nice to people but it will come across as fake.

10. Betsy

She's applied to get on Survivor for 6 years now. She doesn't have a gameplan seeing as though there are so many twists and turns in the game. Her goal while being out in Samoa is to love every minute, getting away from doing laundry, just getting to experience the mundane stuff. She hopes that she will remember this experience for a long while.

We're sure she is a lovely lady, but to come out there for the experience just doesn't cut it anymore these days. How about giving up your spot to someone who will play the game while you take your vacation elsewhere? We could be wrong, and we are hope that we are wrong.

  MEN

1. Jaison

He loves the complexity in the game, you can be the smartest and still lose, you could be the meanest and win. It's about how you interact with people at the time. He wants to try to find a core group that he can trust, and start knocking people off. It's all about people skills. He is worried about pushing people too hard, may come across as too bossy.

Jaison has a natural charm and this is why he's our favorite among the men. We like his take on the game and it pretty much sums up those who have been successful in the past. Still, he seems open to change and that will be good for him in terms of survivability. We think he has a decent shot in this bunch.

2. Russell H.

He is used to controlling every aspect of his life, and Survivor is no exception. He wants to control each person out there and proclaims himself as a puppet master. He believes the trick is to not let others to let on these he's in control. He will be able to tell who is being real or fake. He intends to stir up chaos in the tribe but without getting any of the blame. He will have a hard time living with fake people.

We are definitely not rooting for the guy but of the entire cast, he definitely evoked a response out of us--and that is a good sign that he'll be a big character this season, love him or hate him. We think he's too fixated on being the big, bad boss, that he really has no chance of winning this game.

3. Erik

He is impressed with the group of 20 and knows his age is right in the middle of the mix which will work in his favor. He didn't have much anything else to add except the mantra that one should think before they actually take action.

We don't know why we ranked him so high, but we're getting a good vibe about this guy just the way he spoke during his confessional. We see him being a good player at this game.

4. Russell S.

He's going to fit in very well because he's very social. He did some personal training but will not mention him being a lawyer. He's going to work hard, going to try to figure out how to eliminate the people. He doesn't plan to emerge as a leader as they don't have a good shot at winning. He will use his legal background to figure who is calling the shots on the tribe. He feels unique because he can be very humorous and very serious, not one or the other.

Russel should fair well in the presence of a bunch of alpha male types who are jockeying for control. We can see him laying low while people get voted out. He seems like he'll have a hard time dealing with some other personalities out there, but we think he'll be able to bite his tongue and let it go.

5. Mick

He doesn't plan to tell everyone that he is a physician but make up a similar occupation. He sees himself sarcastic, very loyal,  and pretty stable. His plan will be to stay under the radar to begin with, doesn't want to upset anyone or stick out. He is going to expect everyone to carry their weight and intends to call out the lazy ones if need be.

Marcus 2.0? Hopefully this time around, he won't feel like he has everyone wrapped around his finger. With the tribe he is on, he doesn't look to be anyone that should worry about getting voted out until around the merge.

6. David

He was once an introvert and shy and hope the opposite qualities shine through. He describes himself as a bit weird. His people skills are pretty good, and feels he is old enough to moderate what he can say. What he is thinking isn't always the most polite thing to say. He is playing the game to secure an early retirement.

David is well, um different. He kind of reminds us of Peter back in Marquesas, the first person to get voted out during that season. Still, we have a bit more confidence in David and see himself being a colorful personality this season, that will unfortunately NOT win.

7. John

He wants to be in the middle in term of intellect since no one likes when you are really dumb or really smart. For whatever reason, he manages to draw attention a lot to himself. Some might view him as cocky but he describes it justifiably confident. In the fact of conflict, he describes himself as too comfortable and able to confront it without much trouble. He is very competitive and aggressive and is not used to losing.

Not sure what to make of John, we know the guy has a good head on his shoulders but apart from that, we don't have any reason to gravitate toward him. If he doesn't play a cocky game, and doesn't pout over losses, we think he'll be more likeable.

8. Mike

He was there for Brazil, but got bumped because of health reasons. When he came back, he did everything to get in tip top shape to qualify and his life hasn't been the same since. He is going to try to cook a lot at the beginning of the game to appear as an asset. He sees himself as a very loyal person.

For an older man, we hope to see something that will give us hope that Mike can last longer than the first couple of votes. Sadly, we don't see that happening for Mike. We are interested to see if his culinary contributions will actually keep him around or not, but he's definitely a goner.

9. Ben

He is a a country boy that's done fishing, hunting, someone that has been exposed to this kind of lifestyle for a long while. He goes with the flow, can adapt, and is a hard worker. He'll have a hard time dealing with those who whine. He thinks he will fair well because he is good socially with people and likes to make people laugh.

It might be too soon to see another country boy prevail in this game. But where JT was able to use his southern drawl to get far in the game, we don't see Ben having that same kind of effect on the other Survivors.

10. Brett

Sees himself as the younger, if not youngest competitor here. He knows that a social connection is important to this game, and is looking to have a strong foundation by listening to people. His downfall may be being naive, putting trust in people that may turn on him. He realizes that he will flirt but doesn't want to be too over the top with them. He wants to play the game as himself and hope that in the process, others will trust him.

One word: mactor.
