- In the first episode of the season, Stephenie LaGrossa will dislocate her shoulder right before the challenge and it appears it will be a recurring problem for her. Someone else will have a broken toe according to Jeff Probst.

- One of the challenges revisited will be the same one that caused Mike Borassi of Survivor Samoa to be evacuated. Jeff Probst goes on to say there will be injuries severe enough for them not to do the challenge ever again. He doesn't say whether there will be a medical evacuation or not as a result of this challenge
