Episode 04 Predictions
James Le

For a season that has pretty much spoon fed us the boot every week, it's still nice to see that even the eventual boot is still deemed as surprising.

This week, the women are fed up with the men's antics, particularly their inability to contribute to improving/sustaining camp life. It may be easy to fall into that trap, especially since we have had edits from 2 of the 4 men on how they contribute little to the tribes - Nathan in episode 02 when he took a break from making a fire and Adam, also in episode 02, when he and Jonathan get in a little tiff over working more than they need to. Now, I will be the first to admit that women alliances in mixed tribes don't usually go through often, but this week, I think they may just do that.

Stephannie/Rebecca - These women, the one time they went to Tribal Council, voted the same way. There is no reason for either to flip at this point. Stephannie also revealed if Hiki was still in tact, that she would have supported Nathan instead of Rebecca/Sundra.

Parvati - She will likely vote out someone she has little or no control over. We have heard her being chummy with Brad in Insider videos, and we already saw her put the moves on both Nathan and Adam, leaving JP as the outsider.

Jenny - She is a definite floater that will stick with the women for now, she has a sure thing if she does go with them (at least 4 boots before the women have to start targetting themselves). She has a bond with Brad that seems to have carried over from Puka Puka.

Cristina - After being disillusioned by her original Aitu tribe by throwing the immunity challenge, she's not going to allow JP to have his way again. This will probably build up to an Ozzy/Cristina showdown.

With all of the womens' position in the tribe assessed, it looks like JP is the clear target for the week. If they really do find his strength necessary, Stephannie may be a close call.

Hey Survivor fans! Woot, what a great week for TV. Lost and The Nine were great if you were wondering. I'm sure Survivor will be too.

Not quite sure on the number of challenges this week, it does appear that there is a Reward Challenge, so I guess they switched back to having rewards. Looks like they are jumping off masts, probably part of an obstacle course, as it appears, as swimming and running can also be seen. Stephannie looks to be sitting out. No indication of who wins, I'll just say Rarotonga, because they're a stronger tribe. Immunity Challenge it appears that Aitutaki wins. Dejected photos, previews and common sense lead to this assumption. So the matter is of what will happen at Rarotonga, I want to believe it's another misdirection with JP "Ruling the Roost", but so far that has pretty much yet to occur. It seems to be girls versus guys, and I don't believe anyone would switch. So, I'm going with JP, the third hispanic in a row to get the axe.

It seems to be girls versus guys.

Ok, so here we are at one month of “Cook Islands” and, really, what’s all that different this time around?  The tribes have merged (for the first time), so the whole “tribes divided by race” thing really isn’t an issue anymore and now we’re playing the game of “Survivor”.  Last week saw the boot of Cecilia over a close vote with Becky.  However, Becky seemed to ally with the right people, Yul being one of them, and had the two votes to turn the tide on Cecilia.  Hmmm…I wonder if there’s any hope for the others or will there be yet another twist in which the tribes are randomly divided.  Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think they did that last time around.

So here’s the picture.  You have two tribes now in Raro and Aitu.  Raro consists of: Adam, Brad, Cristina, Jenny, JP, Nate, Parvati, Stephannie and Rebecca.  While Aitu has Becky, Candice, Coi-Boi, Jessica, Jonathan, Ozzy, Sundra and Yul.  If you’re going by numbers (and who isn’t), that would give the edge to Aitu.  They actually seem like the more divided tribe and with two obvious outcasts in Jessica and Coi-Boi, it would be fairly easy for them to have a numbers advantage within their own tribe.  But, lest we forget, that we started out with twenty of these folks and there’s yet to be a double tribal council.  There’s talk of perhaps four
going in one episode, ala “The Apprentice”.  Personally, I’d love to see that happen.  I’d like to see both tribes be forced to vote out two at their respective Tribal Councils.  I mean really, how cool would that be?  At any rate, when looking at Raro we have four strong men who could easily be considered “threats” when that next
merge comes around (assuming they make it that far).  Adam, Brad, JP and Nate and with the women having a numbers advantage on Raro, the men could go down just like that.  Then again, Parvati seems willing to flirt with anything with a pulse, so you just never know…

As for this week, I don’t really know if there’ll be a reward challenge and an immunity or if they’ll combine them again.  Personally I like the combined reward/immunity challenges as it gives us more time to focus on the players in the game.  Plus, and this is just personal opinion here, but the rewards at the beginning of the game suck.  I mean, toilet paper or a snorkel?  Puh-lease.

Who will it be this week?  Well, that’s the question of the day (week) isn’t it? This season really has no guaranteed spoilers, so it makes it fun to actually just try and guess who’ll go based on editing.  It’s been a long time since that was actually a factor.

Assuming Raro goes to TC, I think the women might take out one of the men.  Parvarti’s obviously not interested in Brad, she likes Adam but might move onto Nate.  Personally I’d like to see Adam go, but Stephannie is about as worthless as they come.  Over on Aitu, the previews showed Coi-Boi causing more trouble, so I wouldn’t be too surprised to see him get the boot over there – though that would suck considering he’s one of the more entertaining ones this time around.  As for who gets exiled, well we all know that it really doesn’t matter who gets exiled, but why not Jonathan?

Stephannie is worthless as they come.
